Meet the full spectrum of emotions as we walk into winter

Hello Reader

I was at the College of Sound Healing Annual Conference over Remembrance weekend, and the hotel was decked out with Christmas decorations. It made me feel quite queasy!

There I said it - the word CHRISTMAS - and with this, a reminder that this Friday is the last gong bath before Christmas at 7 pm at The Oak Tree Cabin, Halstock, BA22 9QU!

My children love Christmas and there are some things I like as well; like the twinkly lights, the candles, the fires and the gatherings of family and friends.

However, it can also be a stressful time as we juggle all the demands of work and family. And it can be a very lonely time for some, especially those who have lost dear ones.

I want to honour the full spectrum of emotions we meet as we walk into winter.

Allowing myself to be fully sad when I feel sad, not trying to figure it out, but allowing the tears to roll down my cheeks, and giving myself the space to have a duvet moment.

When I notice that ebb and flow of emotions, I get an understanding of Life and surrender to it. I repeat to myself - Trust Life, Trust the Path.

As I walk, I practice Gratitude. It's an action for me. Paying attention to the smallest of details, like the grasses and the ornamental dried out flower heads that will provide food for the birds overwinter. I feel my heart suddenly filled with awe and wonder as I touch the joy I long for these days.

This is what Walk In Beauty is about. Making it a practice to see the beauty in everything, even when I am sad or feel lonely or lost. Repeating to myself; Trust Life, Trust the Path.

There's a lot going on in the world.

Personally, I have to be really intentional about how much I tune into the news, and what I choose to read or listen to. I feel that for me, it's about staying really present with what nourishes my soul.

If I am feeling a little off-kilter, I choose to go for a long walk and not turn the radio on in the kitchen unless it's to listen to happy music. Dancing in the kitchen to cheesy tunes always makes my heart sing!

Nurture the childlike yearning inside that wants to play!

What do you need to do for yourself in the coming weeks to nurture the still quiet childlike yearning inside of you that wants to play?

This Friday's gong bath will be like a gentle caress to hold you and take you into that place of deep comfort and solace, where you can meet your childlike self and find out what you need to carry you through the winter.

If you would like to come, there are still places left. You can book your place here.

Yearning for more...

I want to start a monthly circle. I have a beautiful room in my old 1750s inn with an Inglenook fireplace that would make the perfect space for this. It would be a circle for integration to listen and speak from the heart.

Part of me thinks it should be an online offering so that more people can come, but the Inglenook has been calling me for some time, so I think I will start there with a small group and see what wants to happen.

The first one is in January and is offered as a taster session to sense into what is needed. I'm curious to know what day/time would work best, so if you are interested in this opportunity, please fill in the poll below.

I also have some capacity in my schedule for one-to-one coaching. If you are interested in doing the inner work that will co-create your vision for your life and/or work, let's explore the possibility of working together.

Remembering Our Roots Gong Bath with Aleka Powell

The Oak Tree Cabin Dear Reader, I’ve recently returned to my country of birth, Panama, for the first time since the passing of my dear aunt three years ago. This journey has been one of deep reconnection to my roots, my heritage, and the ancestral stories that shaped the woman I am today. As I listen to tales of how my mother grew up, walk familiar paths with new eyes, and feel the presence of those who came before me, I am reminded of the strength, wisdom, and resilience that flow through...

The Great Mother gong bath

Reader Motherhood is so much more than a title—it is an energy, a presence, a way of being. We are all mothers in some way. Whether or not we have children, we nurture, protect, and create in countless ways. We are mothers to the Earth, tending to her beauty and receiving her gifts. We are mothers to the animals, offering them care, companionship, and love. We are mothers to the plants, growing and nourishing the world around us. We are mothers to ideas, dreams, and visions, bringing them...
